8 Tottenham players with the most to prove during ICC
8. Dominic Ball
Given Tottenham’s recent interest in purchasing a fourth central defender, the next few weeks could be crucial to young Dominic Ball. He had a productive loan spell at Rangers last season and may well be ticketed for a return. Of course, he’d prefer to crack Pochettino’s rotation at Tottenham.

There’s some question as to whether or not Ball is best suited as a defensive midfielder or centre half. I have to admit I’m torn, but his only real opportunity for senior football is going to be as the second choice right-footed centre back behind Toby Alderweireld.
Ball’s only shot to secure first team football next season is to be absolutely terrific during the ICC. Perhaps, if he can put in a few commanding performances in Australia he can convince the higher-ups at Tottenham they don’t need to purchase another centre back this summer. It’s a long shot, but stranger things have happened.
For Ball, his ICC play is likely going to determine the quality of his loan next season. He may still have a future for Spurs, but time is running out. He has a lot on the line during this preseason.
