7. Dele Alli will miss at least five games due to suspension

Dele Alli is going to grow up one day, but I don’t think it’s going to be this season. The petulant Tottenham superstar is going to be on every referee’s radar this season, and he’ll receive more than his share of bookings.

In particular, I’m betting that Alli sees red at least twice. It’s not something I want to happen, but he was fortunate it didn’t happen to him last season. The only way he’s going to learn to change his behavior is to be caught, and subsequently punished.

He’ll get his share of yellows too, but that’s not going to be the issue. Alli is going to really hurt the club by snapping several times this year. It’s hard to coach that out of him, but that’s going to be one of Pochettino’s biggest challenges.

Of course, Poch has to be careful not to coach too much of Alli’s “naughtiness” out of him. It’s part of what makes him an exceptional Premier League midfielder. Tottenham will always have to deal with occasional outbursts from Alli, but this season will be the height of his misdeeds.
