Tottenham-Everton: 5 Spurs post match thoughts
1. Vincent Janssen helps everyone
When Vincent Janssen was introduced as a second half substitute, the match changed completely. He gave the Tottenham attack a real focal point, and he almost managed to win the match on his debut if not for a fine save by the Everton keeper.
Janssen may not be the most stylish striker in the Premier League, but his physicality gives Spurs’ attack a completely different dimension. If not for his second half efforts, Tottenham likely would have left Goodison Park with a loss.

It’s really the Dutchman’s hold up play that really changes how Tottenham can attack an opponent. He gives the Spurs midfield an outlet to play the ball under any circumstances. He also occupies the opponents’ centre backs in a way that even Harry Kane can’t replicate.
That doesn’t mean he’s a superior striker to Kane. He just gives Pochettino a credible plan b off the Spurs bench. He’s already earned Spurs one point off the bench, I wonder how many more he’ll earn through the next 37 league encounters.
