Striker and Bench
Vincent Janssen will once again be under the microscope on Sunday. He’ll get the nod taking Harry Kane’s normal place in the Tottenham starting XI.
His performance currently divides opinion among even the most rational Spurs fans. Some point to his lack of goals and high-profile misses as causes for real concern. Still others point out that is physicality and hold-up play creates valuable room for the rest of the club’s attackers.
In the end, both sides are right. I am concerned that Janssen hasn’t found the back of the net from open play as of yet. I’m also encouraged that he holds up the ball well for his teammates. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. At any rate, he’s going to start as the club’s number nine against City.

Pochettino will have real quality on the bench; at least in terms of his offensive options. As I mentioned earlier, he’ll have Alli to provide offensive punch in the second half. He should also have the option to bring Georges-Kevin N’Koudou into the affair if he needs some additional pace on the wing.
This match could even see another Spurs appearance for Harry Winks. Some might think an affair of this prestige is a bit over his head, but he’s really the club’s only option to replace one of the defensive midfielders. If Spurs need offense from the double-pivot, he could see action again.
