Son Heung-Min-8.5

Pochettino caught most of the Tottenham fan base by surprise when he elected to play Son as a single striker today. It’s pretty obvious that gamble paid off for Spurs.

Son didn’t get a goal, but he provided a sublime assist for Alli’s sumptuous finish. More importantly, his energy at the top of the press made life a nightmare for the City defense in the first half.

The Korean star gave Tottenham everything he had on the afternoon. He ran his socks off and looked dangerous every second he was on the pitch. He deserves all of the praise he’s getting at the moment.

Eric Dier-6.5

Dier only got about 20 minutes of action in relief of Moussa Sissoko, but he got the job done. He provided a bit more steel in the middle of the Spurs midfield and that helped preserve the clean sheet.

It was a baby step in the right direction for the English international. He’s really struggled to start the season, but hopefully this match will serve as a springboard for a significantly better run of form.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou-6

It was a very brief cameo for the French midfielder, but he showed a great deal of his skill on the left wing. He’s got the potential to be an important option off the Spurs bench as the season progresses.

Vincent Janssen-5.5

You have to imagine that Janssen was disappointed not to get the start, but he did at least get an opportunity to come on as a substitute. Of course, he really only played four minutes of stoppage time. That’s not enough time to give him much of an evaluation.
