Wing Backs

As I mentioned in the open, Danny Rose’s status for the match is squarely in doubt due to injury. While I believe Rose would be a huge advantage against the Cherries, I expect Pochettino to start Ben Davies in his place.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

The Welsh international certainly isn’t the dynamic star that Rose is, but he can do a reasonable job in his absence. He’ll need to make sure he doesn’t get caught too far up the pitch against Eddie Howe’s side. If he does, he could get burned for a costly goal.

On the other side, I presume that Kyle Walker will once again assume his normal starting spot. I was rather surprised when he didn’t make the trip to Germany, but have to believe resting him was always part of Pochettino’s plans.

In the absence of Rose, he’ll need to expend maximum energy to help Spurs out on both ends of the pitch. He may become the club’s most important player against Bournemouth.
