25. Sergio Aguero
Over the last five years, Sergio Aguero has been the best attacking player in the EPL, though he hasn’t received the accolades to back that up.
Despite helping lead Manchester City to a pair of EPL titles, one of which included his legendary last-gasp winner against Queens Park Rangers, he’s shockingly yet to make a PFA Team of the Year. However, he’s well-deserving of this nomination.
The 2016 calendar year was much like the previous few from Aguero. Lots of goals in bunches, though some inconsistency due to missed games with injury.
Like the rest of the Argentine national team, Aguero’s Copa America Centenario will ultimately be remembered as a disappointment. With only one goal in the competition, it was another tournament where Aguero failed to get his footing as an international player.
Fast forward to the new EPL campaign and he’s up to the same tricks. Five goals in seven games while already having been suspended for an elbow, it’s been an eventful season so far for Aguero. Isn’t it always?
