Strikers

With any luck, this will be the last time Pochettino enters a match without having Harry Kane available for selection for a very long time. I have a sneaky suspicion that Kane is going to be heavily involved against Arsenal on the weekend.

That frees Pochettino up to play his two healthy strikers together against Leverkusen. Vincent Janssen and Son Heung-Min should both get the opportunity to shine on Wednesday.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

Janssen certainly deserves another start after his solid shift against Leicester. He earned, and then converted, the first half penalty that gave Tottenham the lead. He still hasn’t scored for the club from open play, but he continues to look more and more dangerous.

Son, on the other hand, really struggled against the Foxes this weekend. He needs to snap out of his slump against Leverkusen if he wants to stay in Pochettino’s plans moving forward. A Champions League goal could go a long way towards cementing his status as a starter.

Mauricio Pochettino isn’t going to hold anything back against Leverkusen tomorrow. This lineup should give him the best chance to score enough goals to secure an emphatic victory.
