Crystal Palace – Alan Pardew

Just a few weeks ago Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew was the odds on favorite to be the next manager fired.

Last weekend’s convincing 3-0 victory over Southampton has taken a bit of pressure off of the manager. Pardew also recently received the backing of Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish. In a recent interview on talkSPORT Parish stated that Pardew’s job is “totally safe”.

Regardless of what his chairman said Pardew knows the realities of management. When asked about Parish’s vote of confidence he stated, “Look, it’s not absolutely safe. We are not delivering the points that we need to deliver and that’s what I need to address, and then hopefully my job will become a bit more secure.”

After a decent start to the season, Pardew’s team lost six straight matches in October and November. The streak was capped off by a crushing 5-4 defeat to fellow strugglers Swansea.

The Eagles are currently out of the relegation zone in 14th place. Unfortunately, if Pardew’s club continues to struggle over the Christmas period and in to the new year he may find himself out of a job.
