1. Son Heung-Min

This will be the most surprising name on this list for some Spurs fans. He did, after all, have a brilliant patch of form during Harry Kane’s injury absence. Unfortunately, his play outside of that brief run of brilliance has been exceedingly mediocre.

If you don’t believe me, check out how many times he’s been the first player off the pitch in matches lately. Pochettino is clearly growing tired of his inconsistent and ineffective play.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

Some Spurs fans have slated Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli for the club’s offensive issues, but for me, Son is always the most culpable “star.” He is the definition of a luxury player. The Korean attacker is capable of amazing skill with the ball, but contributes almost nothing other than the occasional goal. It’s safe to say Jose Mourinho would hate him.

The good news is that plenty of clubs around Europe need to find capable goal scorers. Pochettino and company can probably convince one of those clubs that Son just doesn’t get the opportunities he’d like because of Harry Kane. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him sold for a transfer fee in excess of £30 million based on his flashes of quality. If Tottenham get that sort of bid, they should jump at the chance to offload Son.
