While Premier League fans debate whether Ozil is a genius or lazy, the German midfielder continues his involvement in charity work.

Ozil has been involved with many causes throughout his career and was involved with the BigShoe11 campaign during this past summer’s Euro 2016 Tournament. The program led to Ozil funding the medical treatment for 22 children in need.

Ozil recently appeared in a video for the Arsenal Foundation where Gunners players and manager Arsene Wenger donated a day’s wages for the 10th consecutive year.

More from Premier League

In an interview earlier this year with Henry Winter of the Times, Ozil spoke of his passion for charity work.

"I want to help people in need but I don’t want people to know I’m doing it. My aim is helping kids. Kids are the future. I love children. I’m thinking of my own childhood. I know where I’m from. If I wanted something, I couldn’t get it. Life wasn’t easy."

One has to wonder where the talented German’s charitable acts will take place in the future. Will it be North London or elsewhere?
