4. Cameron Carter-Vickers

Heading into the season, Carter-Vickers had more momentum as a prospect than the aforementioned Winks. Fortunately for Spurs, they haven’t needed him to play very much.

That reality is changing due to recent injuries to Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld. It’s quite possible that Carter-Vickers will need to start next week against Sunderland. A solid outing against Wycombe in the FA Cup would be a nice building block to that eventuality.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

Unlike Winks, the challenge for Carter-Vickers isn’t standing out. He just needs to put in a string of solid, quiet performances in place of Alderweireld. The less his play is talked about the better it means that Tottenham are playing.

Carter-Vickers simply needs match time whenever he can get it. Playing against Wycombe will give him a chance to put on a solid 90 minute performance in front of Pochettino.
