Best of Premier League’s starting XI this season
By Liam Price
David Silva (Manchester City)
If a whole lot of you are of upset that I have included Manchester City’s David Silva in this season’s top XI and I will tell you right now, I have a good reason. While N’Golo Kante or Gylfi Sigurdsson would have also been a good inclusion, this man makes the City squad tick.

The Magician has been on the front lines for Manchester City throughout this campaign and doesn’t often receive the recognition he deserves. This is the sort of player that plays a brilliant ball to the man who gets the assist. Always with his head up, Silva knows exactly where the ball is at his feet and can take on, trick or leave his opponents standing when he wants. This is a player who I have had the privilege of seeing live and he is always moving.
It will be a real shame when he is no longer able to play for the Citizens but let’s hope that’s years away from now. With 23 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City this season, Silva has managed 52 chances created– of which, 48 of those are key passes. Silva has also managed a staggering 87% pass accuracy with two assists and two goals to compliment those statistics.
Silva is a character who can change the outcome of a game and often has, which is exactly the reason that he makes my Best XI of the season.
