Striker-Harry Kane

There isn’t any a person alive who isn’t related to Vincent Janssen that would suggest starting him over Harry Kane against Newcastle. If the prolific Englishman is fit, he’ll undoubtedly be in Tottenham’s starting XI.

No one was worried about his slow start to the preseason, but it was nice to see him find the back of the net against Juventus. He’ll harass Newcastle defenders while they’re on the ball with his incessant pressing and he’ll terrify them with his constant movement when Spurs are in possession. He’s developed into the model centre forward under Pochettino.

Keeper-Hugo Lloris

Pochettino’s choice at keeper is very similar to his decision at striker. To put it bluntly, it isn’t a real choice. As long as Hugo Lloris is fit, he’s going to start every big match for Spurs. He’s the club’s captain and his play reflects that honor. Look for him to provide a steadying influence for the club this weekend.
