5. Paulo Gazzaniga

We’ll start this piece off with the easiest call. The only way Paulo Gazzaniga will see the pitch against Everton is if both Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm are unavailable. That would require a serious run of bad luck, even by Tottenham’s standards.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

Gazzaniga was brought into the club to bridge the age and experience gap between Lloris, Vorm and the club’s cadre of Academy keepers. He is not a player that is ready to make a significant impact on the first team this year.

In fact, I believe Gazzaniga will be luck to make a first team appearance at any point this season. He may appear in a squad or two from the substitute’s bench, but Vorm and Lloris are going to keep him nailed to the bench barring injury or illness.

Right now, Gazzaniga’s role is to help Tottenham improve their keeping in training and to serve as eye candy for the club’s female fans. He will not be called upon to stop any shots at Goodison Park on Saturday.
