Moussa Sissoko-7.5

With just a little bit of luck, Sissoko could have been the man to give Tottenham the lead. He fired a terrific effort towards goal that would have found the back of the net if not for a smart block by an Everton defender. Even without a goal, it was one of the Frenchman’s best efforts in a Spurs kit.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

Before he was forced off due to a slight knock in the 75th minute, he was a force driving the Tottenham attack forward. He isn’t the most skillful player in the squad, but he does have the athleticism to carry the ball forward effectively. His play as a box-to-box midfielder was key for Pochettino’s squad through most of the match. Sissoko did more than enough to earn more playing time for Spurs.

Eric Dier-7.5

Without Mousa Dembele or Victor Wanyama in the starting XI, it was up to Eric Dier to play as the club’s primary defensive midfielder. Fortunately for Spurs, it was one of Dier’s best performances in a long time.

He still made several silly challenges, but his positioning was better than it’s been in recent weeks. For Dier, keeping the game simple is the easiest way to improve his performance. He didn’t try to do too much against Everton and as such, turned in one of his best matches in the past 12 months. Pochettino will hope there’s more to come from Dier as the season progresses.
