Champions League first round round up
Group C
Chelsea 6 FK Qarabag 0
Despite all the pre-match plaudits given to Qarabag for their off the field work in their home nation of Azerbaijan there was only one way that this match was ever going to go. Chelsea were dominant from the outset and consistently picked apart the Azerbaijani champions on their way to accruing a large goal difference and advantage in the group.

Roma 0 Atletico Madrid 0
Both clubs handicapped one another by drawing this match. The lack of goal difference accrued and no points will be difficult. Atletico gain the slight advantage to be the second club beside Chelsea out of the group because they were away in Rome. Roma should have done better.
Group D
Barcelona 3 Juventus 0
In the showcase match for the day Barcelona gained their revenge on Juventus for the dominant shut out that happened in last terms knock-out round. Lionel Messi scored on Gianluigi Buffon for the first time in ages and the Juventus suddenly for the first time appeared very Bonucci-less.
Olympiakos 2 Sporting Lisbon 3
The Greek heavyweights would have favored themselves in this match to do better. Perhaps the most entertaining match of the round. Sporting Lisbon have no interest in going quietly.
