Centre back-Davinson Sanchez

In case you’ve forgotten how important the talented Colombian is to the Spurs defence, simply re watch the second half meltdown against West Ham. Sanchez was rested against the Hammers and Pochettino’s squad paid the price.

On the plus side, that means he’s very well rested heading into this key fixture. Sanchez will be counted on to keep Romelu Lukaku quiet. That’s no simple feat, but he’s got the speed and athleticism to compete with the talented Belgian.

Centre back-Toby Alderweireld

Speaking of talented Belgians, Tottenham have several of their own that will make their way into the starting XI for this match. Alderweireld is certain to be one of them.

He did play against West Ham, but clearly missed playing alongside his usual starting teammates. Look for him to be back to top form for this match. He’ll be desperate to play his best football in such a high-profile fixture.

Centre back-Jan Vertonghen

Yet another talented Belgian! Vertonghen was rested against West Ham in the midweek which is a clear signal that he’ll start this match. In truth, he’s been Spurs’ best defender for over a year now.

He’ll be counted on to help keep United’s wide players under control. Vertonghen likely won’t be able to get forward as much as he’d like in this match, but his distribution from the back will still be crucial for Spurs.
