Richmond Boakye has admitted there’s been interest from Chelsea, and the star is open to a move to Stamford Bridge.

Red Star Belgrade forward has impressed many with his antics in the Serbian SuperLiga. Richmond Boakye is said to have caught the attention of Antonio Conte, which is always a good thing for any young player to hear.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form for Red Star, scoring 27 goals in his last 30 games for the club. Boakye has traveled to London already this year, as he played the full 90 minutes in his teams 0-0 draw with Arsenal in the Europa League.

He has experience in the league that Antonio Conte adores, Serie A, playing with Genoa earlier on in his career and Atalanta for a season. However, what has really caught the eyes of many, is his antics in Serbia.

According to football.london, Richmond Boakye is seen as a Michy Batshuayi replacement. The young young Belgian forward, who scored the goal that clinched the title for Chelsea, hasn’t done enough to impress Antonio Conte.

More from Chelsea FC

That’s understandable, when you’ve faced competition from Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata during your time at the club. However, even when current talisman Morata is unavailable, Conte seems to prefer Eden Hazard in his position rather than Michy Batshuayi.

With the World Cup fast approaching, the Belgian would like to have some game time, but Chelsea doesn’t seem the place he can get that.

Richmond Boakye, who is the same age as Batshuayi, has never failed to make the most of the game time he’s been given, although the SuperLiga isn’t as challenging as the Premier League. Red Star have received offers from a number of clubs, ranging from £6m – £8m, however Chelsea would be expected to offer more, as every Premier League club is.
