Gary Lineker names three players better than Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid’s best is only number four?
Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo have not been enjoying the best of times this season, 19 points back of first-place Barcelona and eliminated from the Copa del Rey at the hands of Leganes in the quarter-final round. CR7 is often talked about as one of the world’s best players, but now it appears that others may be catching up to him.
Former England striker and football pundit Gary Lineker revealed in a recent interview that he believes the Portuguese superstar has slid to fourth in the overall rankings, and much of that has to do with Los Blancos’ dismal 2017-18 campaign.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Lineker is unsure of what is causing Madrid’s struggles at the moment. “I’m surprised, I do not know what happened with Real Madrid this season because last season, they won almost everything.”
The classic debate of “Messi vs. Ronaldo” rages on, but Lineker would take the Blaugrana’s maestro any day. “I like Cristiano a lot, but Lionel Messi is from another world.”
With the Argentine enjoying yet another stellar term, it can certainly be easy to take that view. Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar takes the next spot in the 57-year-old’s list, and it was not easy to pick between the Brazilian and Ronaldo.
“Neymar, but when he played in Barcelona. Neymar is the future, Cristiano has been great.”
Lineker’s next choice is with the future in mind also, and it comes from the Premier League. Tottenham’s Harry Kane has been a goalscoring machine during the past year, and that has certainly caught the attention of many.
Lineker has recognised that also, and feels that the striker will continue to grow. “For the future, Kane!”
After so many years of debating between Ronaldo and Messi, has CR7 now fallen out of the discussion altogether? That will remain to be seen.

Gary Lineker feels that Cristiano Ronaldo is the fourth-best player on the planet. While the 33-year-old still obviously possesses immense talent, perhaps we are now starting to see the beginning of a decline.
