10. Ousmane Dembélé

A year ago, this 20-year old Frenchman would have easily been the best U-21 player in the world. He was becoming a fan favourite at the Signal Iduna Park with his brilliant performances for Borussia Dortmund in the absence of the main man, Marco Reus.

His terrific form earned him a mammoth €140 million move to Barcelona, and this transfer is the reason he is not the best. Since arriving at the Camp Nou, he has made just 8 appearances in all competitions.

The youngster has struggled with injuries, and when given opportunities, failed to impress. He will have a role to play this season, but his principal contribution to his club will begin from next season.

Dembélé is an extremely talented player with lots of potential, but he is yet to realise it, unlike some players of his age. If given enough time to mature at Barcelona, he will become one of the best footballers in the world. But he hasn’t reached that level quite yet.
