De Ligt has attracted interest from clubs all around Europe, including the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal. But fortunately, he hasn’t deserted the club that made him. Offers have come in, but Ajax and the player have unanimously rejected them.

De Ligt has a bright future ahead of him. He might become one of the best defenders in the world in a few years time, but he needs to get some experience in a more competitive league than the Eredivisie and the Champions League.

The 18-year old needs to secure a transfer in order to realise his full potential, but he must not seek a move prematurely. If he can make the right decisions, he can truly do something special.
