Centre back-Davinson Sanchez

Tottenham fans are up in arms about the contract status of Toby Alderweireld, but that won’t impact Tottenham’s defense in this match. Pochettino has a very easy task of picking two centre backs to play at Palace.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

Sanchez is certainly going to be one of the two. The 21-year-old Colombian has outperformed even the most optimistic projections for his initial season at Tottenham. HIs blend of athleticism and poise make him a terrific matchup against any opponent.

Centre back-Jan Vertonghen

Alderweireld’s absence doesn’t mean there won’t be a Belgian starting in front of Hugo Lloris. Vertonghen is also a lock to start as long as he’s healthy and fit.

He’s arguably been the team’s best defender over the past 12 months. He doesn’t have Alderweireld’s skill on the ball or Sanchez’s athleticism but he has managed to outperform them both. Vertonghen has been an absolute rock for Pochettino since the Argentine’s arrival in North London.
