Liverpool legend in the making

On arrival at Liverpool, Salah exclaimed:

"“I joined Liverpool to win trophies” (via: The Guardian)"

Despite his amazing form from 2015-2017 in particular, it is said his current club manager, Jurgen Klopp, “did not want” the tricky-wide-man. The reason: Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt. The German was on Liverpool’s recruitment-radar.

The Merseysiders were saved when sporting director, Michael Edwards intervened and convinced Klopp that Salah was their man…the rest is history! I cannot think of a player or pundit without praise for Salah, when asked.

36 goals later and he has broken almost all Liverpool scoring records. He credits Klopp with additional goals: saying his manager positions him more centrally and forward, increasing his chances.

Salah is now reportedly on Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG’s to-buy-list. Klopp’s side sit third in the league, and will most probably qualify for the Champions League group stage.

They may even win it this campaign, beating Manchester City in the quarter-finals would certainly provide more momentum. If they can do this he may stay for another year or two.

A promising quote from the man himself implies he may stay:

"“…it’s my dream (to win the Premier League). Honestly, I want to win it with this club.”"

I suspect, though, he’ll eventually end-up at Real Madrid or Barcelona. Barca will certainly want him as a long-term Messi replacement; although my hunch is he’ll become a Galactico.

Sorry Liverpool fans, he may undertake a Gerrard style tenure. Nevertheless the fact is, Madrid stalwarts Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo were the 25-year-old’s heroes growing up.
