Mohamed Salah: The story of football’s latest superstar
European leagues’ top scorer
Chart-topper Salah has not only overtaken Kane as domestic top goalscorer. He is also the leader for the top-five European leagues.
Surpassing Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani in the process. Those icons are now gazing up at the man dubbed, “The Pharaoh”.
Legendary goal-scorers Ian Rush and Robbie Fowler would have expected Luis Suarez to possibly break their Reds-records. However Salah is now only behind George Allan to reach 30 goals in Liverpool’s history.
Mohamed Salah is my choice for PFA Player of the Season. Kevin De Bruyne is the only other realistic contender. The Belgian is a marvellous conductor of Pep Guardiola’s phenomenal team.
However, Salah has delivered his prowess more solely. This is as a helper or main-goalscorer, the go-to-guy.
De Bruyne is not City’s main-man. They have a few, David Silva or Sergio Aguero for example. De Bruyne certainly scores an occasional blisteringly good and important goal: at King Power Stadium and Stamford Bridge in particular. Yet he is more of a facilitator.

Any other season, (apart from Ronaldo during a non-title-winning season at United) I would vote for the Man City midfielder. And he will no doubt have a fantastic World Cup with Belgium.
Seminal is, however, how I describe Salah’s reintroduction to the premiership. Breathtakingly bewildering to fans, pundits and most of all left-backs, bless ’em.
