It was a very good night for England in Amsterdam.

England continued their 2018 World Cup preparations with a 1-0 win over the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Friday, with Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard scoring the only goal of the game in the 59th minute.

It was a steady performance from the Three Lions, missing injured duo Jack Wilshere and Harry Kane, with manager Gareth Southgate persisting with a three-man defense after back-to-back clean sheets in the November friendlies against Germany and Brazil.

With Jordan Pickford chosen ahead of Jack Butland in goal, Southgate gave Kyle Walker an opportunity in central defense alongside John Stones and Joe Gomez, while Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose played as fullbacks.

Jordan Henderson, England’s captain for the night, played in the center of a three-man midfield, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jesse Lingard either side of him, and Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford made up a two-man attack.

But who really stood out for the Three Lions? Who cemented their place on the plane to the World Cup and who should be looking over their shoulder? Without any further ado, let’s see how every player fared against Ronald Koeman’s side.
