Harry Kane-5

If Fernando Llorente had played the sort of match Kane did today than Tottenham fans would be crucifying him on social media. Of course, Kane has more goodwill built up with the club’s fans, so he’ll largely get a pass.

He was pretty atrocious on the day though. Kane didn’t create a single scoring chance against a pretty soft Stoke back line. Given the overwhelming possession advantage Spurs enjoyed that’s a pretty shocking performance.

More from Playing for 90

Even more concerning was his struggle to be an effective holdup player. Time and time again he let Stoke defenders win the ball off of him in traffic. I don’t expect him to win every ball played to his feet, but he should’ve won more often than he did today.

Hugo Lloris-4.5

Tottenham fans have grown far too accustomed to Lloris’ habit of making ridiculous errors. It’s not something that happens very often, but when it does it almost always leads to a goal from the opposition.

The Frenchman was squarely at fault for the one goal Spurs gave up today. His inability to clear the ball away from Mame Diouf was a schoolboy error. Luckily for Lloris and his club, it didn’t come back to cost Spurs any points.
