Danny Rose-5.5

Similar to my feeling about Wanyama, I was excited to see Rose get an opportunity in the starting XI. Unfortunately, he did nothing to convince Pochettino he should overtake Ben Davies moving forward.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

Rose didn’t play poorly, but he looked out of sorts for long stretches. His inability to give Tottenham any attacking width down the left was really disappointing. This may go down as a lost season for the English left back if his play doesn’t pick up soon.

Serge Aurier-6.5

Aurier was better than Rose, but it’s not as if he put in a scintillating performance either. He struggled a bit with Stoke’s counter attacks, but he did notably avoid making any disastrous challenges.

On the offensive end of the pitch, I thought his play was encouraging. He put several dangerous crosses into the box that easily could have led to Spurs goals. Aurier needs to improve his quality in the final third, but today was a step in the right direction. Kieran Trippier may struggle to get his spot back from Aurier.
