Tottenham news: Predicting which Spurs fullbacks will return next season
3. Kieran Trippier-Chance of return-75%
Some readers may be surprised to see such me predict such a large possibility of Trippier leaving this summer. My rationale is pretty simple. Trippier is better suited to ply his trade at a mid-table Premier League club. He simply isn’t good enough for Spurs.

He seems like a hard-working, nice lad, but that doesn’t entitle him to be the starting right back for Tottenham. His lack of athleticism really limits his effectiveness under Pochettino. The Argentine manager would certainly prefer a quicker option down the right flank.
I believe there’s a significant chance Walker-Peters develops rapidly enough this summer to make Trippier surplus to requirements. If that happens, Spurs could easily offload him to another Premier League club for a tidy profit.
Kieran Trippier has played a big role for Spurs this season, but right back is a spot the club will certainly look to upgrade this summer. The only question is whether or not Trippier can hang on as a backup.
