4. Juan Foyth-75% chance to return

The young Argentine has only made eight senior appearances for Spurs to date. He was definitely acquired with an eye towards the future, but he still would have liked to at least make one Premier League appearance on the campaign.

More from Tottenham Hotspur

His chances of returning to Tottenham come down to two factors. First, he has to decide whether or not he’s going to be patient. It’s highly unlikely he can become a regular starter for Pochettino next season. At best, he is hoping to become the club’s first option off the bench in central defense.

The second question is just how happy is Pochettino with his countryman’s progress? If he still believes he can grow into a Premier League starter he’ll try to keep Foyth at the club. If he doesn’t, he’ll almost certainly be shipped off to create a place in the squad for a player with superior potential.

The odds ultimately favour Foyth returning for at least one more season. He shows real glimpses of skill with the ball, but he needs to get stronger to contend with Premier League attackers. Pochettino will see that as a fixable problem and as such, he’ll convince the young centre back to keep grinding at Spurs.
