Which games in the upcoming 2018/19 English Premier League season are most exciting? Here are the best diary entries to look forward to.

Finally World Cup 2018 in Russia is beginning. Simultaneously the 2018/19 Premier League fixtures are available. Manchester City recently triumphed easily due to a record-breaking campaign. While the remaining top-five are plotting stunning transfers to close the gap. With lesser sides offering lower profile viewing gems.

Here is why so many mouth-watering fixtures are openers:

"“Last month, it was revealed that the Premier League’s ‘top six’ clubs have been purposely kept apart on the opening and closing weekends of the season for a number of years due to commercial reasons – the theory being that broadcasting audiences are smaller during the summer and attendances would be boosted.” (Via: Independent)"

There are plenty of stand-out, not to mention must-see matches in the upcoming campaign. Tough starts and arduous run-ins a plenty. Here are our top ten selections:

10: Cardiff City v Wolverhampton Wanderers (December 1)

These former Championship and premiership teams have returned to elite glory, a lot is riding on this fixture. Meeting several months-in gives either newcomer a chance to seal a winning formula, as well as knowing their strengths and weaknesses. Either are candidates for relegation, yet I envisage the impressive Wolves retaining status.

9: Leicester City v Wolves (August 18)

Do not underestimate the determination and passion this fixture will derive! A Midlands derby – not the most intense – but these sides are on the rise. Championship champions Wolves are back in the big-time after a six-year hiatus. While Leicester attempt to rekindle their European dream nights. There is history between them.

8: Fulham v Tottenham Hotspur (January 19)

Fulham’s 122 year old quaint stadium, Craven Cottage, will hold this London derby. Spurs hope away form is exemplary this coming season. Settling comfortably into a new ground rarely happens instantly. The newly promoted Cottagers have lost six in seven to Tottenham. Expect a contentious occasion.

7: Manchester City v Liverpool (January 1 – New Year’s Day)

Last campaign the Reds beat the Citizens in the league and Champions League quarter-finals. This New Year fixture’s outcome may provide an early league leader. Do not miss it!

6:  Spurs v Liverpool (September 15)

Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino initially showcase the new White Hart Lane here. While the Lilywhites’ match against Fulham on August 18 is at Wembley, as a result of delayed building. Last season’s two matches between the pair saw a stunning nine goals.

5: Arsenal v Man City (August 11)

Unai Emery begins with two incredibly difficult match-ups in England. In his premiership debut as Arsenal manager, he faces champions Manchester City. Pep Guardiola guided them to outstanding achievements in 2017/18, setting a new pace. A London derby that early could always define Emery’s English career. Along with an away trip to Stamford Bridge for his second game.

4: Liverpool v Everton (December 1)

A clash which needs no introduction. A Merseyside derby will always find its way on to these lists. Highly rated Everton new-man Marco Silva’s debut against City rivals. Imagine the tension at kick-off!

3: Spurs v Arsenal (March 2)

A first North London derby at the fresh Whit Hart Lane. A cracker in-store surely. Heading into the business-end of the campaign; much will be on the line here, as well as combustible overt emotion!

2: Liverpool v Manchester United (December 15)

United’s first entry on the list is a monumental fixture, Especially next term. The Red Devils prioritise an exceedingly awaited Premier League trophy. Yet keen challengers Liverpool want Jurgen Klopp’s first league title. Principally since the club’s last was a Division One triumph 28-years-ago. Anfield always rises to the occasion.

1: Man United v Man City (March 16)

My tip for top-two again. City will expect a back-to-back crowing with their tactical propulsion. Although Jose Mourinho is building wisely at Old Trafford. Only seven games remain following this second Manchester derby. Will that give the winner a potential title victory?

All fixtures are subject to change via television rights and scheduling. Usually that difference is one or two days prior or later to stated timings.
