Manchester United join the race for talented French superstar
By Kian Long
Manchester United are set to battle with Manchester City and Real Madrid for the star with huge potential.
Manchester United is having a fairly average transfer window so far. While they are by no means doing disastrous, there are still a few positions which could do with improving.
Jose Mourinho has noticed this, which is why he isn’t resting. Linked with Aleksandr Golovin, United’s interest has been shifted elsewhere upon recent news, and who can blame them?
According to The Mirror, Manchester United are prepared to join the chase for Kylian Mbappe. The young French prodigy spent last season on loan at Paris Saint-German, but the French club are at risk of breaking financial fair play rules, so he could be swayed elsewhere.
What does this mean for Anthony Martial?
Naturally, eyebrows are being raised again over the future of Anthony Martial. Being linked with someone like Mbappe is definitely not going to do Martial’s confidence the world of good.

Mbappe is an upgrade on Martial, so one would assume he will make the starting lineup ahead of his countryman.
If Martial can’t even get in ahead of Jesse Lingard, then he may as well pack his bags if this news is to be believed.
Martial missed out on the World Cup this year due to his lack of playing time, and it’s hard to see that changing if Mbappe does join the club.
With Paris Saint-Germain showing interest in Martial, United officials could even find a way to incorporate him into the deal, being a win-win for all involved parties.
Here is what Kylian Mbappe offers
He is still just 19 years old, but in my opinion, he is one of the best players in the world. He’s certainly the best young player at least.
For two consecutive seasons, he has torn the French league, as well as the Champions League apart. It’s rare to have such an impact at such a young age, but his quality is undeniable. He has the ability to shine among huge egos.
Mbappe is most renowned for his speed. He likes to pick out space behind the opposing defense and exploit the pockets to the best of his ability.
Not only is he quick, but he also has the end product to match. He has a superb shot on him, as well as the ability to pick out teammates in better spaces.
Like Martial, he is compared to Thierry Henry for his exploits. As an Arsenal fan myself, even I can admit the heavy resemblance. However, I must admit it’s unfair on Mbappe to be given such a huge comparison; he is his own player, after all.
