Chelsea reportedly offered Eden Hazard to Real Madrid before the Champions League final. What were they thinking?

Eden Hazard is the star of the show at Chelsea, and he has been for many years. Granted, he has his off days, but more often than not he proves his worth to the world.

Whether it be a quick shimmy to glide past an opposing defender, or a deadly finish on the big stage, he really is a star. Which is why recent news emerging has caused a shock.

Reportedly, Eden Hazard was offered to Real Madrid before their Champions League final campaign with Liverpool. The news has arisen from MARCA, who also claim Hazard is tempted by Madrid.

Of course, Eden Hazard wouldn’t have been able to play, so the timing was just a coincidence.

Did Antonio Conte play a part in this?

The Belgian has been linked with a move away from Chelsea for some time now, and understandably so.

The club wasn’t up to his standards this season, as they finished fifth in the Premier League. Although, they did manage to pick up the FA Cup, with Hazard of all people scoring the winning goal.

The blame will naturally be put on Antonio Conte if Hazard is to be discomforted. The Italian boss has fallen out with a number of Chelsea stars since his arrival in London, although Hazard hasn’t been vocal about it if there has been a disagreement.

Next season, it seems like Chelsea will have a different man at the top. It looks likely to be Maurizio Sarri, who will look to get the best out of Hazard.

Will Hazard be swayed by Real Madrid interest?

To be short and sweet – Yes. Of course.

And who wouldn’t be? Real Madrid is the most attractive club in the world for a player of Hazard’s immense caliber. He recently spoke about the interest, according to MARCA.

"“Real Madrid can interest me, everybody knows. If they want me, they know what they have to do. If I make a good World Cup things will be easier. But go to Madrid (just) to go, no, it’s too easy. So first I want to see what will happen at Chelsea next season.” – Eden Hazard"

His closing quotation will give the Chelsea faithful a lot of hope. It shows he is open-minded to the change at the club, and he is willing to be part of it should things work out between him and the new boss.
