Arsenal have had a rather impressive transfer window, strengthening in dire positions.

It’s not often that Arsenal head into a new Premier League season full of confidence, with all their signings made a few weeks in advance. Their five signings have settled in to the squad brilliantly, and many have had impressive pre-seasons.

However, they may be joined by a new star, and Lucas Torreira may need to give up his crown of the best signing from the club. That’s because, according to the Mirror, the Gunners could line up a sensational £100m bid for Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.

Young Frenchmen being signed always brings huge excitement to the Arsenal faithful. And they can thank two men in particular, Arsene Wenger and Thierry Henry.

Wenger signed Henry from AS Monaco and his career looked to be set out as a winger, but the rest is history. Now, I’m not sure if Emery has any plans to replicate this with Dembele, should he join. If he did, then he would face quite the competition in Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But that’s not the point, Ousmane Dembele is his own player, and if he is signs then Arsenal fans will be excited for many more reasons than Henry.

Barcelona may be more inclined to sell.

News broke earlier of Barcelona pursuing Manchester United’s Paul Pogba. If they are to sign the Frenchman, then I can only assume they’ll need to break the bank for his services. This could result in their heads being swayed by Arsenal’s rumored valuation of Dembele.

It hasn’t been the best of times so far for the winger, often going through patches of inconsistency, both with performances and game time. That said, losing him may not be a big concern.

But it should be, so don’t be fooled Arsenal fans. Dembele is one of the most promising youngsters in the world currently, although people sometimes forget this due to the huge spotlight Kylian Mbappe has.

Dembele will arrive with a burst of enthusiasm should the Gunners which to up their pursuit, after winning the World Cup with France. But Arsenal will need to be quick about it, because the transfer window won’t last forever.

Do you think Arsenal are right to be chasing Ousmane Dembele?
