Arsenal could loan Ousmane Dembele from FC Barcelona, with an option to buy.

Of all the Premier League clubs, Arsenal have been one of the most impressive in the transfer window this summer. They have gotten all their deals done early, and all five of their acquisitions have settled in perfectly.

However, yesterday it was revealed that the Gunners weren’t done yet, and they could actually pursue the talented young Frenchman, Ousmane Dembele. Reports today from football.london suggest Arsenal could pursue a loan deal, with the option to buy.

This would be the best way.

Although loan moves are never as exciting as permanent deals, this is probably the most strategical way Arsenal could go about their business.

Barcelona would be more inclined to loan Dembele than sell him, as it doesn’t look like a huge loss as of now. Besides, the Catalans would be getting a £10m loan fee, with Arsenal paying £90m next summer should they wish to sign him permanently.

If he can integrate himself into the squad, which there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be able to, then £90m would be a steal. At £10m initially, it’s no risk to the Gunners.

Arsenal will need to be quick.

Arsenal rushing in the transfer window is never a good sign. This is why they got all their business done early, to avoid this being a major deal. The English transfer window will close later on today, so you can see why the news has come about so quickly.

In my opinion, Arsenal should just throw the £10m at the Barcelona officials. Don’t mistake that for being a panic buy though, because Arsenal have had a long-term interest in the Frenchman, and let’s not deny his immense quality.

If Unai Emery can implement his system around the electrifying winger, then who’s to say he can’t reach new heights?

Personally, I’m excited to see how this deal materializes. Although I’m not yet confident Arsenal will sign him, it won’t be a big deal if they don’t. Dembele would be a luxury signing, and it could bring their transfer window from good to perfect.

What do you make of the situation?
