The Welshman could follow Mesut Ozil in making Arsenal wait until January for him to sign a new deal.

Aaron Ramsey is a valuable player to the Arsenal setup, that goes without saying. The Gunners know just how crucial he is, as he offers a dynamic which not many midfielders can offer. He has come up with plenty of goals during his lengthy Arsenal tenure, and he only looks to be getting better as he enters the prime stages of his career.

According to the Daily Mail, the Welshman is still debating on whether or not to sign a new deal. He wants his wage doubled, but Ivan Gazidis and company aren’t willing to grant him this merit. He could follow Mesut Ozil in his approach, which was waiting until Arsenal got desperate before signing a new deal.

This resulted in the German receiving a huge wage increase, and becoming Arsenal’s highest paid player of all time. And rightly so, as he is a truly valuable asset to the Arsenal setup right now, and life without Arsene Wenger would have been ten times worse without him.

Ramsey must have high confidence in order to adopt this approach, but he has every reason to do so. His worth was shown when Unai Emery pinpointed him in his opening presentation, signaling he would build a team around both the midfielder and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Style of play.

The thing which the Welshman excels at most is his ability to locate and exploit space. This is made possible by his probing midfield runs, and his footballing intelligence. While he’s not the most defensive-minded player of all time, he makes up for it with his attacking input.

Now that Arsenal have signed Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, there’s no reason why Ramsey can’t flourish in advanced positions. This is where he feels most comfortable, and we saw this on full display against West Ham United.

There’s no reason why Ramsey shouldn’t be as confident as he is. He’s one of the most important players Arsenal have available to them, and if they will break the bank on Mesut Ozil, then surely they will follow suit with Ramsey.

Do you think Aaron Ramsey is right to demand so much money from Arsenal?
