RB: Juan Cuadrado

I really wish this wasn’t necessary, but Joao Alex Sandro needs a rest. He has started every match for Juve this season and played a match for Brazil during the international break. Mattia De Sciglio was supposed to return from injury last weekend to give Cancelo a rest, but was injured again in pregame warmups. That means Juve doesn’t really have anybody else to start here while Cancelo gives Alex Sandro a break on the left.

Cuadrado is still a very talented winger, but he leaves a lot to be desired as a right back. He was part of a Juve defense that looked very vulnerable against Parma. Frosinone hasn’t shown much in attack this season, so Juve should be able to get away with Cuadrado at right back in this match.

LB: Joao Cancelo

Juventus is unbelievably shallow at full back right now and that unfortunately means Joao Cancelo will be forced to start yet again. Sandro and Cancelo have both been extremely busy this season, but Sandro’s last rest was slightly more recent. Without De Sciglio or Leonardo Spinazzola, Juve doesn’t really have anybody to rotate these two, so Cancelo will need to give Sandro a break while Juve can afford to play him out of position.

Cancelo has gotten better and better this season. We have yet to see what he will look like on the left, but it’s probably not somewhere we will see him often as Spinazzola is scheduled to return in November. Cancelo should be alright on the left and then will hopefully be able to take a break against Bologna on Wednesday.
