Arsenal took on Watford in the Premier League, and although it didn’t look like the case, they ended up winning by a convincing scoreline.

The fixture which has provided viewers with plenty of goals over the years was held to a stalemate for a large portion yesterday. However, the Gunners soon prevailed by scoring two late goals to take their win streak up to seven in all competitions. But what lessons can they take?

1. Where are YOUR cojones, Troy?

I’ll get this one out-of-the-way first. I ran the cojones joke to exhaustion in my player ratings yesterday. But can you blame me?

It was perhaps the main tale heading into this tie, and it will be until the Arsenal fans forget about his comments. Hint: It takes a long while for Arsenal fans to forget about criticism, just ask Jose Mourinho.

But just like with Mourinho, Arsenal had the last laugh over Deeney yesterday. Once again. He had a few chances to break the deadlock, including a terrific debut save from Bernd Leno. Petr Cech obviously had his number in the first half, as the Czech isn’t in favour of mediocrity.

Arsenal put up a fight. It’s important to remember that Watford sat above them in the table heading into this match, after a flying start to the league season. They have beaten the likes of Tottenham to get to where they are, so Arsenal needed to show character.

It appears their links with Brendan Rodgers in the summer came through, because they did show immense character. They could have easily settled for the 0-0 draw, after Watford pressurised mostly, but instead they scored two late goals. Nice showing!
