Barcelona player ratings vs Inter- No Messi, no problem
Left Back- Jordi Alba- 8.5/10
Jordi Alba had a really good evening against the Italian giants. The full back played well defensively and whilst going forward. He attempted 95 passes and completed 94% of them. In addition to that, In addition to that, Alba also nullified threats from Candreva and Politano during either halves and also scored a goal very late on.
Centre Back- Clement Lenglet- 8/10
Clement Lenglet had a very impressive performance on Wednesday and played an integral role in nullifying Mauro Icardi’s threat. The Frenchman kept the lethal Inter forward at bay on most occasions during the match and made sure to limit his movement in the Barcelona box. Moreover, Lenglet helped very well with the high pressure and was probably more important on the night than Gerard Pique.
Centre Back- Gerard Pique- 6.5/10
It was a fairly average display for Gerard Pique. The former Spain international helped well in defending but did not have to help too much with the man marking. Inter Milan played with one striker only, Mauro Icardi, who was kept very silent by Clement Lenglet. Pique wouldn’t have expected such a calm game against Inter but that did turn out to be the case and he will be fresh for El Clasico.
Right Back- Sergi Roberto- 7.5/10
Sergi Roberto started for the first time since his return from injury and came in at right back in place of Nelson Semedo. The versatile player was tasked with keeping Ivan Perisic quite and did so well. His speed and attacking prowess was visible as he linked up really well with Rafinha down the right. Also, Leo Messi’s absence meant that Roberto was able to advance forward more often than he usually does.
