Nothing is set in stone, but recent reports suggest Real Madrid could choose between Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Here are five reasons why they should choose the former…
Real Madrid is in a rebuilding process. With Santiago Solari at the helm, at least temporarily, they are enjoying some fine form. However, things can always be improved. So it’s no surprise to see that Los Blancos are monitoring Paris Saint-Germain’s situation, and should they be caught breaching FFP rules, then they will pursue either Neymar and Mbappe. Anyway, all that is boring. Let’s get into some comparison…
1. Age
Let’s get the cliche out of the way first.
Whenever two transfer targets are brought into fruition, age is often a topic of discussion. It seems that the younger a player is, the more valuable they are to a team. So, if you take that train of thought, then Mbappe is your guy.
Mbappe ages at 19 years old, whereas Neymar is 26. You could easily argue that Neymar is approaching his peak, but as Real Madrid are looking for a long-term Ronaldo replacement, they should be favouring Mbappe.
Anyway, it is incredibly hard to believe Mbappe is just 19 by watching him on the ball. If you were a newbie to football, be honest, you would think he’s up there with the most experienced in the game.
Although I think age shouldn’t be a concern, and that Neymar is by no means old himself, I thought it’d be best to deal with the cliche first.
