GK: Wojciech Szczesny

Wojciech Szczesny made another great save on Tuesday that will keep Juve fans happy for a while. It has been very rare for Szczesny to actually be called into action this season, but when he has been he has absolutely made it count this year. I’m sure that at this point Szczesny wishes he played Valencia, but he’ll have to settle for a match against a Fiorentina squad that should keep him busy. He’ll need to be at his best for Juve to keep a clean sheet in Florence.

CB: Giorgio Chiellini

The Juve captain will start again for Juventus as the travel to Fiorentina, but he will do so with a heavy heart as he honors his fallen international teammate, Davide Astori. This will be an interesting matchup to see how Chiellini deals with the Fiorentina attack. They have struggled lately, but the pace of Giovanni Simeone could cause him some issues. The pace could be an issue, but if Chiellini plays as well as he has all year then he should keep Fiorentina’s attack from being able to get things going again.

CB: Medhi Benatia

Leonardo Bonucci got the start once again on Tuesday and once again he almost cost Juve their clean sheet. He has repeatedly had defensive lapses this season and at some point it should get him sent to the bench. Medhi Benatia has outplayed him this season and was great for Juve as a regular starter last season. He should get the start in this match and if he continues to perform well it should be a long term change. Benatia was a regular starter on Serie A’s best defense last season and he should be again this year.
