LW: Cristiano Ronaldo

Juventus signed Cristiano Ronaldo this summer expecting him to win trophies for the storied club. His header against AC Milan delivered the first of those trophies in the Supercoppa Italiana on Wednesday. He has been just about unstoppable this season and Chievo doesn’t look like a team that will slow him down. With Mario Mandzukic unavailable for the next month the scoring duties will fall squarely on the shoulders of the world’s second best player. That responsibility coupled with Chievo’s lack of talent should mean Ronaldo will keep his impressive run of form going.

ST: Paulo Dybala

Moving into the middle from the wing didn’t do much to help get Paulo Dybala back on track in the Supercoppa, but he’ll get another crack at the starting striker role on Monday. With Mandzukic unavailable this seems like the only logical solution unless Allegri is willing to switch to a formation with 2 strikers. That would be a better fit for Dybala, but for now we will continue to see him struggle to make an impact in roles that he isn’t suited for. Maybe he can make it work, but Dybala’s future with Juve becomes more of a question mark with every match he struggles in.

RW: Douglas Costa

Douglas Costa was awesome yet again in the Supercoppa on Wednesday and his performance should earn him another start on Monday against Chievo. Costa has been very impressive every time he has gotten a start recently, but it wasn’t until Mandzukic’s injury that he was finally able to reclaim a spot in the starting lineup. He has made those appearances count as he has used his pace to cause problems for every defense he has faced.

If he continues to play this way then Allegri will need to seriously consider moving Dybala to the bench in meaningful matches to get Costa into the starting spot on the right wing.
