The Chelsea loanee has seen his spell with Spanish side Valencia cut short and the blues are now in contact with Everton to secure a permanent deal for the 25-year old Belgian.

With more than two years remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are in search of a permanent move for Michy Batshuayi as there clearly seems to be no spot for him in the future with Maurizio Sarri’s side.

Everton has already taken another Chelsea loanee in Kurt Zouma this season and is very interested in signing Batshuayi, who could bolster their attacking options immediately. The 25-year old has struggled this year in the La Liga, scoring just once in league play. He hasn’t featured in a match for Valencia since the start of the new year.

More from Everton FC

Marco Silva’s side has been told by the Blues they must pay around 35 million euros for the Belgian, surpassing the 33 million Chelsea paid for Batshuayi from Marseille in 2016. PSG has been inquiring about Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, with the Toffees rejecting a 21.5 million euros bid last week for the Senegalese international. A deal for Batshuayi may depend if the Toffees agree to a deal to ship out Gueye to the French giants or not.

However, Everton does seem confident they can agree on a move for the 25-year old Belgian international before the deadline on Thursday evening.

Another strong attacker

Richarlison has been spectacular this year for Everton, playing solo up front in their 4-2-3-1 formation. He’s bagged 10 goals in 22 Premier League appearances this term. He typically plays out on the left though but has been playing as their lone striker because they lack a true lethal target up top. Cenk Tosun has been disappointing, scoring just twice this year.

Batshuayi is a true striker and even though he’s struggled this season, he has shown glimpses of sheer brilliance as a true number nine in the past. He spent the second half of last season on loan with Borussia Dortmund and was in spectacular form, netting seven times in just 10 appearances.

A change of scenery back to England may be exactly what the Belgian needs, and he would undoubtedly see a healthy amount of playing time with the Toffees. They currently sit just outside the top six in eighth place, and adding a player like Batshuayi could seriously help their attack.

If Everton can also keep Idrissa Gueye who is a vital piece of their midfield, they could be in a very good position as they fight to move up the Premier League table.

West Ham has also reportedly shown interest in a loan deal for Batshuayi, but Chelsea is only interested in selling him on a permanent deal, which is why Everton seems like a logical option for both sides. Since the Toffees already have another Chelsea player on loan in Kurt Zouma, they would only be able to get Batshuayi permanently because of Premier League rules.

If they can string together this move before the deadline for Batshuayi, they could end up selling Turkish striker Cenk Tosun in the near future, who has struggled since making the move to England from Besiktas last year in a 27 million euros move.

Crystal Palace has already shown interest in Tosun.
