The 22-year old is enjoying a breakout year with Birmingham City in the Championship, netting an impressive 21 goals in just 35 appearances which have attracted Premier League clubs such as Tottenham and Everton.

It’s a name most people probably haven’t heard of, but Che Adams is currently the most electric goal scorer in England since 2019 began. Not Mo Salah or Sergio Aguero, but the 22-year old who’s been absolutely on fire in front of the net. Adams has bagged ten goals in his last eleven appearances. He’s scored more goals than any other player in England’s top four leagues since the turn of the year.

With his impressive form this season, Adams has caught the eyes of several Premier League clubs, such as the Spurs, Everton, Arsenal, and Manchester United. It was reported back in mid-February that Arsenal and United are set to compete for Adams in the summer transfer window, as both clubs will look to strengthen their attacking options. Adams almost made a move to Burnley in January’s transfer window for around 9 million euros, but the deal fell through.

More from Premier League

Adams currently sits fourth in scoring with the 21 goals, but given he’s only played 35 matches, it’s extremely impressive. There is absolutely no doubt he’ll be in the Premier League next year after this world-class form, it’s just unknown which club he will end up with. Whoever gets him though will be extremely lucky because he is absolutely lethal in front of goal.

His rise to the top

It’s been an inspiring journey for Adams, who has featured for England’s under 20s several times. He began his career in non-league football in 2012 with Oadby Town, bagging five goals in 33 appearances. He then moved on to Ilkeston FC, where he began to find his form over the next two seasons. It’s where scouts started to take notice of the youngster’s talent in the final third.

In November of 2014, Sheffield United signed Adams to his first professional contract with a big club. At the time, Sheffield was in League one, England’s third tier of professional football. Adams made 47 appearances over two seasons with Sheffield, scoring eleven goals in the process, including two goals in the span of 20 minutes against Tottenham in league cup back in 2015.

Despite playing in Sheffield’s opening match to begin the 2016-17 season, Birmingham City signed Adams shortly afterward to a three-year deal worth a reported two million euros.

In his first two seasons with Birmingham, he scored just twelve goals. This year everything has clicked for Adams as he is well on pace to hit the 30-goal mark if he keeps up this top form.

PL club will be getting an exciting attacker

He’s able to play as an attacking midfielder as well, but Adams has featured primarily up front on the right side in Birmingham’s 4-4-2 formation this term. The 22-year old has also tallied three assists this year.

He isn’t the fastest striker, but Adams has a great presence on the ball and knows where to be at the right time to finish opportunities. His thick, strong build helps him protect the ball from defenders long enough to have a go on net. He’s actually scored a healthy amount of his goals this season that exact way; from long shots outside the 18-yard box.

It will be interesting to see which Premier League club snatches him up in the summer transfer window.

Lukaku may want a move to Juventus. dark. Next

Once that happens, Che Adams can officially say he climbed his way up from the bottom ranks of English football to the top; the Premier League.

It will be well-earned because he has definitely proven himself to be ready for England’s top-tier with his outstanding form this season.
