With the Premier League season set to kick off in several weeks, which managers will be under the most scrutiny?

As the 2019/20 Premier League season is set to get underway on August 9th with a clash between newly crowned European champions Liverpool and recently promoted Norwich City, it’s time to start taking stock of which teams, and likewise, which managers will be under the most scrutiny heading into next season.

Managing in the Premier League just might be the toughest job in all of world football at the moment. However debatable, the English top flight still has the reputation as being pound for pound the most competitive league in all of Europe. On any given weekend, a team battling in the relegation zone can knock out a heavyweight. Just ask Manchester United about what happened against Cardiff City in the final weekend of the season last year.

With renewed expectations before the start of a new season, here’s a list of five Premier League managers who will be under the microscope next season. This does not mean these men are sitting on the hot seat, though they may eventually, but these are five managers who will have the pressure of living up to expectations, whether that be due to the talent on their rosters or the historic stature of the their club. They can both be a blessing and a curse.
