The latest Neymar updates has the player potentially not making a move at all.

Every day there seems to be new information regarding the future of Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain. For a while now, all the news coming out was that the Brazilian was going to move away from the French champions with Spain being the most likely destination. But now comes new news that the Brazilian may stay at PSG after all.

According to Diario Sport, both player and club are actually on good terms and their relationship is not as strained as once thought. Sources close to Neymar, according to L’Equipe, said, “This isn’t a war anymore, they’re being civil to one another.”

Madrid-based outlet, Diario AS, are reporting something similar. They report that time is winding down for Neymar and the lack of progress in negotiations with PSG are making it less and less likely that Neymar moves this summer.

The likelihood of the 27-year-old staying at PSG was always there but once he made it known he wanted out, it seemed the least likely scenario since he made it no secret that he was unhappy by reporting late with the team for practice and taking digs at his current club in interviews.

The problem for Neymar now is that neither Barcelona or Real Madrid have presented an offer that convinces PSG that they would be better off by selling the Brazilian. They have already declined a rather attractive offer from Real Madrid that included the likes of Gareth Bale, James, Rodriguez, and Keylor Navas as well as a hefty transfer fee.

It is no secret that PSG are not on good terms with Barcelona and rejected a deal that consisted of a loan with a €150 million option. The Parisian countered with €250 million. They remain steadfast in not making things easy for Neymar’s former club.

For a long time it felt like there was no going back for either side. Neymar wanted a move and PSG were fed up with his antics. But the way negotiations have gone and no further statements from Neymar or his camp make it apparent that they do not rule out him staying. At this point, that very well could happen. If it does, it means a very anti-climactic end to a ridiculous transfer saga.

Every saga needs an ending and this one may turn out not be a very good one or the one people were hoping for.
