Pedro, Fiorentina

Fiorentina faced a gaping hole in the center of its attack after the club loaned Giovanni Simeone to Cagliari. To fill the void, Fiorentina acquired Pedro from Fluminese for a little over $15 million. Pedro isn’t a big name like Franck Ribéry, but he might make a bigger impact than the former Bayern Munich star.

Pedro brings with him an impressive goal scoring record with Fluminese. He already scored five goals in 10 league matches this year, and he scored 10 goals last season. Pedro’s play last season earned him Young Player of the Year honors in Brazil’s Série A.

Pedro is a creative player who has tremendous dribbling skills. He likes to play with flair, and he’s not afraid to take on any defender. Most importantly, he has great touch in front of goal, so he can score from anywhere in the box.

With the move to Fiorentina, Pedro hopes to continue his success in a higher-profile league. He’ll feature as a center forward, and goal scoring will be his primary responsibility.

Pedro will have plenty of opportunities since Fiorentina doesn’t have many players in a central role. He’ll fit well as a target for talented wingers like Ribéry and Federico Chiesa. Don’t be surprised if Pedro finishes the season as one of Fiorentina’s top scorers.

Pedro was a hot prospect a few years ago, and he caught the attention of big clubs like Real Madrid. His star faded, however, after he tore his ACL and missed six months. His talent nonetheless remains evident, and he represents a high-value move for Fiorentina.
