4. Ki-Jana Hoever

(Holland)

Position: Right Back

Club: Liverpool

Hoever has already made his first-team debut for Liverpool coming on a substitute against Wolves in the FA Cup in January this year. The Dutch defender impressed in a CB role, however, his more comfortable position is at right-back and it is where he is expected to play for the Dutch during the tournament.

He impressed earlier on in the year during the U17 European Championships helping the Dutch to secure the title and scoring an impressive goal in the process whilst also being solid and compact throughout. Many struggled to get past Hoever’s pace and power at the back and he was one of the shining sparks of the tournament.

Hoever is one of Liverpool’s best prospects and featured regularly for Liverpool’s first team in pre-season during the summer. He has already made one appearance for the Reds this season starting against MK Dons in the league cup. Hoever caught the eye and grabbed his first goal against the Milton Keynes side with an impressive header inside the box from James Milner’s cross in a comfortable 2-0 victory.

Hoever is quick, has great awareness and very comfortable on the ball meaning he often brings the play out of defence and instigates attacks.
