CM: Adrien Rabiot 7/10

We’ve finally seen some signs of life from Adrien Rabiot. He had looked completely uninspiring in his first few appearances with Juve, but against Bologna he gave us a glimpse of the talent that made him a sought after target for the last couple of summers.

He passed the ball well, including getting Juve into dangerous areas a couple of times, and he made a few creative runs that gave Bologna’s defense a lot to worry about. It still won’t be enough for him to take Blaise Matuidi‘s job right now, but a few more performances like this could help him remove Sami Khedira from the lineup.

CM: Miralem Pjanic 7.5/10

It’s beginning to appear like Miralem Pjanic is wasting his talents playing in the midfield. He has now scored a goal in 3 of Juve’s last 5 matches and even added a couple for Bosnia and Herzegovina during the international break.

This goal was a gift from Bologna as a poor back pass set Pjanic up from close range, but his nose for goal has been nice addition to the Juve attack recently. He wasn’t the creative presence he usually was because of Bologna’s decision to man mark him, but he was still able to make an impact. That has been his most valuable quality recently. He has impacted matches in any way he can find. It’s a big part of why Juve has yet to lose a match this year.

CM: Sami Khedira 5/10

I’m sure it will come as a surprise to many that I have absolutely nothing good to say about Sami Khedira once again. As usual, he seemingly went missing for most of his time on the field before being mercifully subbed off in the 61st minute. I still fail to see what his purpose in Juve’s lineup actually is and I hope Juve finds an alternative soon.
