3. Daniele Rugani

Position: Centre Back

Club: Juventus

The young Italian centre back showed great promise from an early age. He is a measured defender with great composure and excellent heading ability. Rugani has been a steadfast member of Juventus’ first team squad throughout the last couple of seasons but as the blue and blacks strengthened this summer Rugani has fallen out of favour with Juventus’ new coach Maurizio Sarri and has currently only played one Serie A game for Juve this season.

According to the Italian publication Calciomercato Liverpool are keen on the defender and are poised to exploit Rugani’s situation and lack of playing time at Juventus. However, the Reds will face competition from AC Milan and Man United according to Calciomercato.

But with both United and Milan out of form this season, the appeal of Liverpool will certainly have much more pulling power for Rugani.

Whilst Liverpool have strong options at the back with Van Dijk and Matip, the latter is out injured and his two deputies Gomez and Lovren has both shown inconsistencies as they covered for the Cameroonian defender.

Lovren has also been linked with a move away from Anfield according to Tuttosport (via Skysports) and in case of the departure of the Croatian defender a move for Rugani would make sense as the Italian could be the perfect replacement.
